Scales House was a large six storey building located on Montreal Street Christchurch, which is a main city thoroughfare in the Christchurch CBD.

When the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes hit this structure was severely damaged. The damage was such that it prevented any access to the building by personnel. The remote control Bobcat was craned into each level of the structure to safely perform soft strip works. This project required immense forward planning and management of our critical path.

Approximately 4,500 tonne of steel was recycled as well as 50,000m³ of concrete was crushed for reuse.
