Makarewa Freezing Works
This was a demolition for the Alliance Group of their Makarewa Beef Processing Plant in Invercargill. The demolition consisted of multiple 4-6 storey structures including an 8 storey water tower that was demolished from the top down, floor by floor.
While the demolition works were being carried out a fully operational venison plant located beneath the demolition continued with its daily operations.
Approximately 4,500 tonne of steel was recycled as well as 50,000m3 of concrete was crushed for reuse.
